1. Chuckbox, 202 E. University Drive
The Chuckbox on the corner of Forest Ave. and University Drive has been around for almost 20 years, and still reigns as the best burger place near campus. You can bite "The Big One," one of their signature burgers, and slurp down a soda for just under $7. The menu also offers chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and buffalo wings as well as a free scrumptious selection of condiments so you can customize your order.

2. E!Ba Cafe, 705 S. Forest Ave.
Head down Forest Avenue and you'll find E!ba Cafe. At this colorful, two-level restaurant you can get a smoothie with some friends, or order from their traditional Asian menu featuring items like chicken curry, dumplings and Spicy Thai Tom Yum. Nothing on the menu is more then $6. Noon - 6pm

3. Slices, 11 E. Sixth St.
This classic New York-style pizza joint is just east of Mill Avenue on Sixth Street. You can get a good-sized slice of pizza and a drink for about $5. Expect the traditional toppings, with one or two specials for the day. If you're in the mood for some tasty pizza and only have a few dollars in your pocket, this is the place to go.

4. College Street Deli, 706 S. College Ave.
Sandwiches, sandwiches, sandwiches -- College Street Deli has made putting a bunch of good stuff between two slices of bread their specialty. The appropriately named eatery is a short walk down College Avenue from University Avenue. The deli offers a spread of your time-honored sandwich favs, but employees will make pretty much any crazy creation you can think of.

5. Cafe Biblioteca by Charlie, Hayden Library on campus
Located just outside of Hayden Library, Cafe Biblioteca by Charlie is a coffee house that can hit you with a shot espresso to help you stay awake while studying in the library, or serve up a delicious gyro to hit the spot if that's what you're craving. They also sell snacks, gourmet pizzas, hot and cold drinks and breakfast options, all at minimal prices.
