Mill Avenue has a new kid on the retail block. American Apparel, the T-shirt company that boasts a sweatshop-free product, opened in November on the corner of Mill and Sixth Street.

The company has enjoyed immense success between both the ethically conscious and style savvy. Its risque, soft porn-esque ad campaign featuring photographs of dewy-skinned, ethnically ambiguous alterna-kids lounging about in next to nothing has probably contributed to their popularity as well.

The store offers basics in virtually every color under the sun, and that's what makes it so great. There haven't been this many T-shirts and jogging shorts in one place since P.E. But these pieces are not of the ill-fitting, awkward bulging variety. American Apparel's T-shirts and tank tops have the most flattering cuts and suit every body type, making it easy to go from at-home lounging to at-the-bar drinking.

Many of the store's pieces also have a retro vibe, like their updated version of the classic jogging short that looks like it belongs on the set of "Three's Company." There's also the old school wrist/head band, a collection of bodysuits that scream "Flashdance," and striped knee-high socks that are surely a staple of many a roller derby girl.

The only problem is the price tag. A pair of sweats, leggings and a hoodie came to a grand total of $94 -- tax not included. Ouch.

The payoff is that you'll find yourself wearing these every day. Seriously. No other company has come close to making sweatpants this sexy.
