Saves The Day
Monday, March 13

We feel all warm and fuzzy when we remember our high school days, when that one kid who always brought his guitar to class would constantly play "At Your Funeral," the only song he knew. Saves The Day was the new Weezer about four years ago -- and now they're in town to serenade us once more. See them with Circa Survive and Moneen at the Marquee Theatre (730 N. Mill Ave., Tempe) at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $15. Call the Marquee box office at (480)829-1300 for more information.

Plus One
Tuesday, March 14

DJ Paparazzi is coming to Plus One!, Paco Paco's new monthly dance party. This raises some questions. First, who's DJ Paparazzi? He's a 21-year-old DJ from Los Angeles named Cesar. What is Paco Paco, you ask? Why it's only the Valley's premiere gay Latin dance club (3045 N. 16th St., Phoenix), of course! And, what exactly is Plus One!? Well its official description is "The monthly dancerock! Indie! Discopunk! Pulp and joy division party!" We have absolutely no idea what that means, but with $5 cover and beer and mixed drinks for $2.50, it's definitely worth checking out. The party starts at 9:30 p.m., for ages 21 and up. Call (602) 263-8424 for more information.

Wanda Sykes
Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11

Frequently appearing on Comedy Central and in movies like "Monster-In-Law" (yet another film that involves Jennifer Lopez and weddings), Wanda Sykes is one of Entertainment Weekly's 25 Funniest People in America. We love her best as the sassy woman who's convinced that Larry David is racist on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm." See Sykes at the Tempe Improv (930 E. University Dr., Tempe). Tickets are $30 for the 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. shows on Friday and Saturday. Call (480) 921-9877 for more information.

Bob Saget
Thursday, March 16 -- Sunday, March 19

It took us years to get over the fact that the perfect "Full House" father, Danny Tanner, is actually a foul-mouthed, highly-offensive comedian. Those heartfelt moments with Stephanie and Michelle were just so cute! See Saget at the Tempe Improv (930 E. University Dr., Tempe). Tickets are $22 for the 8:00 p.m. shows on March 16 and March 19 and $25 for the 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. shows on March 17 and March 18. Call (480) 921-9877 for more information.

This play tells the story of how American Latinos lived, fought and died in the global struggle for democracy during World War II, all while fighting against discrimination in the United States. "Voices of Valor" is inspired by real-life accounts of Latino and Latina World War II veterans. See the play at Gammage Auditorum (1200 S. Forest Ave., Tempe) at 7:00 p.m., but stop by for the pre-show celebration starting at 5:30 for free food and drinks and live music. Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for general admission. Call the Gammage box office at (480) 965-3434 for more information.
