ASU can regulate off-campus actions

Students who repeatedly hold loud parties face fines from the city and possibly a phone call from ASU.

The University will investigate major and recurring incidents involving students off campus, University officials said at a Tempe City Council committee meeting Tuesday.

USG Senate, regents mull meal plan

Undergraduate Student Government President Yaser Alamoodi's veto of the proposed mandatory meal plan could have sent a profound message to the Arizona Board of Regents -- if the veto had actually passed.

The veto was deemed invalid after Alamoodi failed to notify the USG Senate president within 24 hours of its signing, as stipulated in government bylaws.

Police increasing campus presence

Safety around south-campus residence halls and Hayden Library topped concerns presented to ASU administrators at a campus security forum Tuesday night.

SPM caught up with Eli Kuner from Asleep in the Sea last weekend to talk about violent disputes and the trials of old age. The band is comprised of Eli Kuner on drums (and tambourine), Tom Filardo on guitar and vocals and Owen Evans on keyboard and vocals. The guys recently performed at the annual South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, and are currently awaiting the release of a new EP, 3005
