Students lobby for meal plan change at East

A clash between students and administrators over mandatory meal plans at ASU East could result in a $300 reduction for some students.

Numerous complaints over the past two months have been made to administrators about the requirement that students in various on-campus housing purchase a meal plan, or risk losing their housing for the spring semester.

Details released in charges against ex-football players

Two redshirt freshmen kicked off the ASU football team last month allegedly videotaped consensual acts between one of the suspects and his girlfriend and photographed her while nude, police reported Tuesday.

A 19-year-old female ASU student met her boyfriend, Brent Russum, 19, and his roommate, Jonathan Lehmann, 19, in the lobby of the Palo Verde Main residence hall on March 24, according to records released Tuesday by the ASU Department of Public Safety.

ROTC cadets detain illegal immigrants during training

As an Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps cadet, it can be difficult to put your field command experience to use on a daily basis.

But a group of Army ROTC cadets from ASU had that chance early Sunday morning when they found and detained 16 illegal immigrants during a training exercise at Fort Huachuca.

Junior Joona Puhakka has made his mark on the ASU swimming and diving team, capturing four national titles in three years.
Regardless of whether he's eyeing a 15-foot birdie putt or bounding from a 3-meter diving board in the Summer Olympics, ASU junior Joona Puhakka is as intense as they come.

Puhakka might be passionate about his golf game, but his skills are unrivaled in collegiate diving.

Since Puhakka, a 22-year-old Finland native, came to ASU in August 2002, the ink has never dried on the school's record books.
