ASU athlete arrested in slaying

ASU wasted little time reacting to the arrest of junior tailback Loren Wade after he was arrested over the weekend and charged with the murder of a former ASU football player in the parking lot of a Scottsdale nightclub.

Wade, 21, allegedly shot to death former ASU defensive back Brandon Falkner, 25, while he sat in the driver's seat of his BMW outside the Coyote Bay Night Club shortly after 2 a.m. on Saturday.

County won't charge ex-Sun Devil Henderson

The Maricopa County Attorney's Office has not filed charges against a former ASU football player who was accused of sexual assault last spring.

In March 2004, a then-18-year-old female student alleged Darnel Henderson, then 19, entered her room in San Pablo Hall while she was asleep and had sexual intercourse with her, The State Press reported at the time.

Student group rolls out Republican Pride Week

The College Republicans kick off ASU's first "Republican Pride Week" today with activities and demonstrations meant to raise awareness of the Republican agenda.

Jared Sandella, president of the College Republicans, said Republican Pride Week is celebrated on campuses nationwide, where the events have been very popular.

Student arrested for firecracker explosion

Police allege an ASU student set off a firecracker from the balcony of his room at the Cholla Apartments early Thursday morning that exploded near an ASU police officer.

When he was asked to fill in after an injury to sophomore right-hander Zechry Zinicola caused a change in the rotation, Urquidez made a case to stay there.
