ASU hockey captain Adam Blossey practices Monday at Oceanside Ice Arena in Tempe. Blossey was selected to play for the USA in the 2005 World University Games in Austria.
The Sun Devil hockey club hoped to open the season series with UA on a positive note. It never imagined that its first game against the No. 16 Icecats would run as smoothly as it did.

The No. 9 Sun Devils used a mix of great offensive play and superb goaltending to coast to an 8-1 victory over the Icecats at the Tucson Convention Center on Monday night.
