Immigration

Immigration is not a topic you've probably heard much about during this year's presidential election campaign -- at least not from the candidates.
It's not that the candidates lack official positions or that they agree on immigration issues. It's just that, other than Independent candidate Ralph Nader, they'd rather not talk about it.

Breaking News: ASU employee suspended following arrest for illegal videotaping

ASU placed the assistant director of the Sun Card Office on administrative leave Tuesday after he was arrested for allegedly using a concealed video camera to record patrons of a clothing-optional sunbathing park near Austin, Texas. Dale Witenhafer, 38, of Gilbert, was arrested on Sunday after a patron of Hippie Hollow Park notified rangers that a man was videotaping sunbathers, said Travis County Park Ranger Kurt Neilson.

ASU senior safety Emmanuel Franklin dives after OSUís Yvenson Bernard Saturday after ASUís kick off. Franklin was named the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week Monday.
For the third consecutive week, an ASU football player has taken home the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week award.

This time, it was senior free safety Emmanuel Franklin nabbing the honors for his performance during the Sun Devils' 27-14 win over Oregon State on Saturday.

Franklin tallied eight tackles, six of which were solo, and broke up two passes. Franklin also had what head coach Dirk Koetter said was possibly the best play in college football this season when he slapped the ball out of OSU sophomore Joe Newton's hands just as the tight end crossed the goal line for a would-be touchdown. Franklin then jumped on the ball and the play was called a touchback.

Men's golf hopes to continue winning ways

Despite carrying pressure from being the fourth ranked team in the nation, the ASU men's golf team still has its focus on one goal -- winning.

Heading into their 13th season under the direction of head coach Randy Lein, the Sun Devils are looking to add more accolades to the team's already illustrious history.

"Our expectations for this year are similar to that of past years: win the Pac-10 title and compete for the national title," Lein said.

Don't I know you?: In a FLASH

Sometimes you have to test the limits. In my 30-minute break between KIN 105: Ultimate Frisbee and ENG 352: Short Story, I need to read 20 pages and traverse campus. I have to make it from my ultimate frisbee class near the Student Recreation Center to my short story class on the northwest side of campus.
