Immigration

Immigration is not a topic you've probably heard much about during this year's presidential election campaign -- at least not from the candidates.
It's not that the candidates lack official positions or that they agree on immigration issues. It's just that, other than Independent candidate Ralph Nader, they'd rather not talk about it.

Crow outlines downtown campus plans

An area south of First Avenue and Fillmore Street is the tentative location of a planned ASU campus in downtown Phoenix, ASU President Michael Crow said Tuesday.

Crow said he hoped there would be "complete embedding with the community," in order to blur distinction between campus and city property.

Dale Robinson can remember a time when he practiced football at a park in the heart of Queens, New York.

There was no field; players just lined up on a narrow hill where there was some grass. Off to the side were rock beds, which players thought about avoiding as much as the opposing tackler.

Hockey club confident after tryouts

The ASU men's hockey club had high expectations before tryouts began. Now that tryouts are over, those expectations have increased.

"We definitely have an upgraded team this year," said head coach Mike De Angelis. "Tryouts went better than expected. Some great talent has come in.
